Stay close to the action by bringing your recreational vehicle to the National Championship Air Races. Weekly reserved RV parking lots lie within easy walking distance of entrances to the event site.

Each lot is dry camping on a dirt lot – no water, electrical or sewer hookups are available. Drive-through sewer pumping and water supply trucks visit both the Optimist and West Lot and provide additional services for a fee. Portable toilets are available in both lots for your convenience.

Pets are welcome with you in the RV lots but are not allowed into the airport grounds during the event. Barbecues are allowed, however, open campfires are not permitted.

Advance reservations are highly recommended. Reservation fees are for the entire week. No daily rates are available. You can enter your reserved lot space as early as Sunday, Sept. 09 and stay through Monday, Sept. 17.

West Lot

The most popular RV lot due to its prime location, the West Lot provides a dry camping RV space in either 18-foot by 30-foot or 18-foot by 50-foot spaces. The West RV lot (L1 on the site map) is located at the southwest corner of Reno Stead Field, west of the RARA/Biplane/Formula One Hangar. Access into the event from the West gate requires a season pit pass in addition to season general admission, reserved seating or box seat tickets which must be purchased at the time your RV reservation is made. West Lot RV guests have first choice to reserve the same space at the next year's event.

Optimist Lot

The Optimist Club of Reno and RARA team up to provide dry camping RV sites in a variety of sizes in lots (L15 on the site map) located just outside of the Pit Gate. Spaces are assigned based on the length and width of your RV or trailer and include enough space for one additional vehicle. Recreational vehicles of 40 feet or more require a Premium (20-foot by 50-foot) space.

A drive-up sewer dump site and water refill area is located in the lot. There are no mandatory ticket purchase requirements to park in the Optimist RV lot. However, purchase of a Pit Pass with your admission ticket is highly recommended as passage through the nearest entrance to the venue, the East Pit Gate, requires one.

Advanced reservations for the Optimist Lot may be made beginning March 1, 2012 by calling the RARA office. On-site reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis starting March 1, 2012.

Tent camping is also available in the Optimist Lot. One spot can fit up to two 4-person tents and one car. Showers are available at the nearby St. Michael's Church for a small fee.
