Handicap parking is available for vehicles displaying official handicap plates or placards. Shuttle service is provided from the handicap parking lot to the main gate. There are two reserved parking areas for recreational vehicles. The Optimist Lot is located north of Echo Avenue, east of Mt. Vida St. and across from Gate 2. The West Lot is located at the far west end of the field, west of the RARA hangar. RV permits are for the entire event only. No daily permits for RVs are available. More information on recreational vehicles can be found here. Shuttle service Shuttle service runs approximately every 30 minutes. Departures are from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Returns are from 2:00pm to one hour Shuttle tickets Shuttle tickets may be purchased at the pick up/drop off locations and at Stead Field. Tickets prices are $11.00 one way, $19.00 round trip, $51.00 for a weekend pass (Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday) and $68.00 for a season pass (Thursday-Sunday)after the last race.
Flying In Every inch of the Reno-Stead Airport is occupied by participants and vendors during the week of the National Championship Air Races. All non-participating aircraft should choose Reno-Tahoe Airport, Carson City Airport, Truckee Airport, or other Northern Nevada/California airports as their destination, with surface transportation from your arrival airport to the Reno-Stead Airport. Those landing in Reno-Tahoe Airport can take a short cab ride to the Grand Sierra Resort and catch the shuttle bus from there.
