Welcome to the home of the Reno National Championship Air Races, the only place in the World where you can see five days of REAL AIR RACING by six classes of aircraft up close and personal. The Air Races have been run since 1964 near Reno, Nevada, USA, and are currently held at Reno Stead Field, about eight miles North of Reno.

Race aircraft in the Unlimited Class reach speeds of over 500 mph - by far the fastest-moving machines in motor sports! The 46th National Championship Air Races also included a world-class air show featuring the US Navy "Blue Angels" flying the F-18 Hornet. Air show performers for 2009 included David Martin, the Red Eagles, the Smoke and Thunder jet car, and Patty Wagstaff, plus military and civil flight demonstrations, and a large display of static aircraft.

This year the limited edition Breitling being produced for the Air Races is the Airwolf Raven. The Reno National Championship Air Race logo will be on the dial and the limited edition number will be engraved on the back of the case. There are 100 available - to reserve yours for delivery before the Air Races, call Nema Loux at the Dacole Company in Reno - 775-322-1881.

Keeping its finger firmly on the pulse of the needs expressed by aviation professionals, Breitling has developed the Airwolf. Designed in a resolutely functional spirit, this chronograph is an impressive wrist instrument making the most of the possibilities afforded by electronics. Its numerous functions have been kept to those actually required by professional pilots:

Handling of these functions is designed to be logical, simple and direct, and an NVG-compatible display backlighting system enables night-time read-off. Its aeronautical vocation is underscored by Breitling’s exclusive rack-and-pinion mounted slide rule. The Airwolf is also endowed with undeniable attractive aesthetic assets, including perfectly ergonomic curving chronograph pushpieces and, above all, a turbine shaped construction on the caseback serving as a resonance chamber for the alarm and the other audible indications.

The price is USD $4,470 with the 20mm Steel Professional bracelet and $4,380 with the Ocean Racer strap [as depicted]. If you have a number preference, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

The event draws fans from all over the world, including a large local following, and brings millions of dollars to the regional economy each year.

The Reno Air Racing Association, which organizes the event, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of authentic air racing.
